Went to Redcliffe Museum today, which I loved! Even in Oz, the history geek in me comes out! haha It was pretty much just all about the history of the peninsula & the current exhibition was Redcliffe Treasures.
Little plate that's presumably a memento of the Hornibrook bridge, which was demolished.
Uniform from one of the toll officers on the Hornibrook Highway
Shackles used on criminals sent to Redcliffe by order of the Brits.
Old apothecary jars & bottles that were used on the peninsula.
Amazing vintage Singer sewing machine.
WWII Australian Uniform
Soldiers box with all the essentials... shaving brush! lol Guessing they had to look suave for all the Redcliffe girls they were trying to seduce...
Ancient camera, so cool!
Athletes Uniform
Old Redcliffe workshop
Old school cheese grater... and potato masher (above)
Laundry, which looks like one in a doll house! Cute!
Petrol pump
Bit of war time fashion
The peninsula inhabitants even did a bit of rollerblading back in the day!
Hornibrook Bridge when it still existed
Matthew Flinders, first person to sail into Morton Bay & named the peninsula Red Cliff because of the red cliffs he could see from his boat
Even Shakespeare made it to the peninsula... well kinda!
